YEBN Newsletter June 2014

The latest YEBN Newsletter is available here.

Welcome to another busy edition of the YEBN newsletter.  We start with our new competition: ‘Your embarrasing lab mistake’. Please send in your input, the competition is still running (see first page). Then we asked one of European biotechnology’s biggest questions, how can we become better innovators?  Top scientists discussed the question at the Innovation Leaders Conference in Cambridge (see page 4) and the debate will continue in a Science2Business session organized by YEBN at ESOF in Copenhagen this month.  On pages 4 and 5 we also have news from the Zurich Life Science Day and find out how the Spanish National Year of Biotechnology was celebrated in Salamanca. Making plans for your summer?  In July, Europe’s Leading Congress on Biotechnology will take place in Edinburgh and BAC 2014, the 8th Congress of the Spanish Federation of Biotechnologists (FEBiotec) will be in Barcelona (for more details see page 7).  We introduce a new career feature in which we interview former biotechnology and biology students about their career path after their studies. If you want to know more about your future possibilites:  the Biotech Lifelong Learning Network may be able to help you (more information on page 6), and finally you may be interested to know why the Euraxess website team toured Europe to tell you how they can help you find your perfect job abroad (see page 3).

Enjoy the reading!
