Our story
The Young European Biotech Network was founded in December 2002 in Bertinoro, Italy, by young researchers and student organisations from several European countries. It began as a small community of biotech enthusiasts and grew into a network of organisations spanning the continent.
Since then we have worked with universities, research institutions and companies to open up opportunities that are hard to reach on your own: events, workshops, mentoring, and the kind of introductions that change what happens next. Our members build connections, gain experience, and find out what a career in this field can actually look like.
YEBN is run entirely by volunteers, who are themselves the people the network exists for.

Bring life sciences students, young professionals and their associations together so they can work with each other rather than in parallel.

Contribute directly to career development and growth — through workshops, panels and access to people who have already made the move.

Identify the needs and problems our members share, and work internationally to do something about them.
How the network is run
YEBN is run by a board elected by its delegate assembly, made up of representatives from our institutional members. The board serves a one-year term, and every position is voluntary.
YEBN was re-founded as YEBN e.V., a registered non-profit association, in Germany in November 2015.
