2020-2021 Board Interview. Amina Frese, YEBN Treasurer.

In these interviews we can meet more deeply the members of the recently established YEBN Board for the period 2020-2021. The next member to be introduced is Amina Frese, YEBN’s Treasurer.

This is what Amina wants to tell us about herself.

I am currently working in Medical Information and live in the UK. I am originally from Germany and I studied biology and did my PhD in Biochemistry.

What, in your opinion, makes YEBN special?

All our members! It is fantastic to meet people from so many different backgrounds that all join this network with great ideas and motivations.

How do you think YEBN can help you develop a successful career?

I think the YEBN organises a lot of useful events for young professionals to support with options for the development of their future career.

What are your goals for YEBN in 2020-2021 as YEBN Treasurer?

As Treasurer I will be responsible for the finances. I am already learning at lot about taxes, budget planning and preparing official financial reports. However, as EB member and member of the YEBN since 2018 I am very invested in the strategic development of YEBN and hope to be able to help continue growing our network and organising great events.

How do you try to make a change for the better?

What a difficult question 😀 I am trying to make a difference for patients in my job and also I hope that I can help young professionals along their way by volunteering for the YEBN.

In what point are you in your career?

I just transitioned from a classical career as scientist (PhD and Postdoc research) into a new career in Medical Affairs.

I am very invested in the strategic development of YEBN and hope to be able to help continue growing our network and organising great events.

What’s your dream professional career?

I think I am on the right path 😉

What do you like/dislike most about your job or what you study?

That my work can make a direct difference to patients.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I love dancing, especially ballet!

Important advice for others, what have you learned.

Don’t focus too much on getting to a certain point in life, enjoy the journey!
